Because of their smallish base diameter, these ceiling hooks can look nicely finished when mounted onto a timber block, as shown on the left. The 80 or 90mm round blocks are a good size for this hook.

This is an original Deco fitting for a chandelier.

It has its authentic shaft with its closed hooked section at the base onto which the chain will be attached.

The underside carries a 3-legged attachment to secure the fitting to the ceiling.
The electrical cable will feed down from the ceiling, through the shaft and out through the hooked piece before weaving down through the chain.
