These "MELALITE" brand shades are made using
the original moulds and machinery of the 1930's.

They are made of genuine bakelite and the
white, mainly "ornate" design, continue to be sold
to flower growers as the shades are able to withstand
high wattage globes without melting
when strung over fields or hung in green houses.

In the past these shades were sold in packs of
mainly white and speckle pink, green and blue to
general stores all over the country.

My son Murray and I since acquiring the firm, have
been experimenting using traditional methods to come up
with the range we have today.
